Monty Helmer

Monty Helmer, CEO of Advanced OPS International
Monty founded Advanced Ops International (AOI) in 2014 after a distinguished career in law enforcement and global security. As president and chief executive officer, he is responsible for setting the company’s strategic direction, identifying trends, issues and opportunities that affect AOI and its clients, and ensuring that the company remains faithful to its vision and mission.


Before founding AOI, Monty led Business Development-Americas for the early stage North American division of a leading manufacturer/installer of whole-body contraband screening systems. Prior to that, he was Director of Sales and the Southeast Regional Sales Manager for a supplier of less-lethal electronic restraint and control products. He also has in-depth experience with corporate asset protection and anti-terrorism security solutions for multi-national organizations. Early in his career, Monty was an active duty/reserve non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, as well as a police officer.


Serving as a security consultant across a broad range of private and public sector organizations, Monty has built a solid industry network among government agencies, law enforcement, correctional facilities, and transportation providers. He has been an invited speaker at numerous transportation industry conferences and in Homeland Security round table discussions about air cargo security screening best practices.


Monty holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice degree and has completed extensive sales and security industry training.



Teresa Helmer

Teresa serves as the Vice President of Administration and Corporate Secretary for Advanced OPS International. She is responsible for all day-to-day operations that keep the company running smoothly, from facilities to human resources, office management, and staff oversight. Teresa also holds the important role of secretary for the corporation. In this position, she is responsible for a wide range of activities, including:

  • Managing all board and committee meeting logistics, attending and recording minutes of all board and committee meetings, and facilitating board communications
  • Advising the Board on its roles and responsibilities
  • Maintaining key corporate documents and records

A native of South Dakota, Teresa has nearly 20 years experience in administration. Her drive to learn and apply new ideas and skills, combined with her enthusiasm and creativity have made her a strong addition to the AOI team.


James West III

Birmingham, Alabama native Jim West has a rich history of business success that he brings to the Advanced OPS International Board of Directors. For more than 40 years he has owned and operated companies whose products and services range from construction to real estate, mining equipment to drilling, and welding supplies. He is currently President and CEO of a family-owned wholesale picture frame supply distribution company in Birmingham, Alabama and is President and CEO of a chain of picture framing retail stores based in Nashville, Tennessee.


Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from the University of Alabama and is active in his local community of Pell City, Alabama. Since joining the Advanced OPS International Board, Jim’s solid business track record, personal and professional integrity, and forward-looking guidance have been key to the company’s success story.


Jack Forbus

Jack Forbus- Board of Directors
Jack is a valued member of the Advanced OPS International Board of Directors. A Mississippi native, after earning a degree in Industrial Engineering from Mississippi State University, he decided to stake his personal and professional roots in his home state.


After working in several different industries, Jack became a State Farm Insurance agent and started his own agency in Starkville, Mississippi where he continues to serve his community. His mission is to help his customers manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and realize their dreams. He brings this same vision, compassion, and counsel to the AOI Board.


He is active in his local Rotary International Club, serving as a District Governor and he devotes much of his time to the Board of Trustees of the Palmer Home for Children.
